After a long hiatus, the 1978 Yamaha XT500 is back in the Billet Proof Designs family. Our owner, Damian, has a childhood friend down in North Carolina who just brought it back up to Pennsylvania for him.

Any vintage motorcycle enthusiast with interest in Japanese bikes should know the XT500 quite well. It was an instant hit. In fact, the XT500 actually won the first of the big African off road race rallies, which were gaining popularity in the late 1970s.

This particular Yamaha XT500 has a long history of rock flyin', hill climbin' mayhem; as do most of the good ones. Between finding it in a barn, doing a late-night 5th gear burnout down at the Smokeout Rally, poppin' wheelies all over the white collar Main Line, PA suburbs, this beast has too many stories to tell!
